The Department of Energy, in honoring its civic responsibility collaborated with ChildLink Inc. to provide critical support for vulnerable children and their families, in response to the COVID19, pandemic. The Non- Governmental organization a partner of the Ministry of Social Protection, operates Child Advocacy Centers in Regions 3,4,5,and 6. According to reports the Centers receive at least three hundred (300) referrals annually from the Police and the Child Protection Agency for children who are victims of one or more forms of abuse.
The Department procured one hundred and forty (140), packages, containing grocery items and cleaning supplies, which were distributed to communities in stated regions. Packages were also distributed to migrant children and their families as well as physically challenged senior citizens.
