ExxonMobil is forging ahead with its aggressive exploration and appraisal drilling programme offshore Guyana with new prospects being targeted at the 6.6 million acres Stabroek Block.

The Noble Sam Croft drill ship is probing Pinktail-1, located 104 nautical miles (192.6 kilometers) offshore, covering an area of 0.29 square nautical miles. The Maritime Administration Department said in a notice that this campaign is expected to conclude on June 22.

The rig will then be engaged in drilling operations at Cataback-1 located approximately 104.88 nautical miles (194.24 kilometers) offshore, covering an area of 0.29 square nautical miles.

Additionally, the Stena DrillMAX will continue its campaign at Whiptail-1 while the Noble Don Taylor will engage in drilling activities at Whiptail-2.

Meanwhile, the Stena Carron is engaged in drilling activities at Jabillo-1 on the ExxonMobil-operated Canje Block up until July 30, covering an area of 1 square kilometre. Drilling at the Canje Block will be key to determining if the upper-cretaceous play can be extended in a basin where over 9 billion barrels of oil equivalent have been found in the adjacent Stabroek Block since 2015.
