Guyana’s oil and gas industry has seen impressive momentum since 2015 with estimated recoverable resources of at least 9billion oil equivalent barrels of oil proven to date, from which production commenced in 2019 and is expected to reacharound 750,000 bpd by 2025.

The Government of Guyana (GoG) has expressed its commitment to securing the benefits of oil and gas for all Guyanese. One key element of this is having in place a robust Local Content Framework inclusive of a Local Content Policy and Local Content Legislation. Through Cabinet decisionof August 27th 2020, Government appointed an Advisory Panel on Local Content. The members of the panel were identified as follows:

The Panel has been tasked with undertaking a review of policy initiatives on local content in the petroleum sector and to provide guidance for the development of Guyana’s Local Content Policy and Legislation. Annex A provides the Panel’s Terms of Reference(ToR).
